Here's what we're doing to prepare for the 2020 growing season amidst the coronavirus pandemic
Updated 3/23/2021: In 2021, we're still being cautious. We're not quite out of the woods yet with COVID-19. Even though people are now getting vaccinated, infection rates are rising in Michigan. Therefore, at Good Sweet Earth, we're still taking precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus as we begin the 2021 season.
1. We’re taking every precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including:
2. Wearing a mask is the most effective way of slowing the spread of COVID-19, so we're taking it seriously. If you see us wearing a mask, it's to protect you, not us. As cases of COVID-19 spike again in Michigan, at Good Sweet Earth, we're re-committing ourselves to do whatever we can to slow the spread. Every time we interact with the public from now until we get an "all clear," we'll be wearing a mask. Every time we approach a customer's home, we'll be wearing a mask. Every time we make a delivery of a product, we'll be wearing a mask.
3. We have received higher-than-normal requests for Worm Compost this off-season. People, it seems, are preparing to garden like never before. Therefore, as of early March, we are currently do have Worm Compost available, but our priority is to make sure our pre-paid Worm Compost customers get the compost they paid for. We'll be selling our Worm Compost by the bag as we have extra compost available. Thank you for being patient with the worms (and us!).
5. Finally, we know these are stressful times, and we truly value each and every one of our customers, and hope you are all staying healthy (both emotionally and physically). Take the time to spend some time outdoors. There’s a good chance many of us will be spending more time in our yards than ever before this year. We are excited to continue giving you a healthy lawn that you can feel good about playing on. As always, feel free to reach out and talk to us if you have any questions or concerns. We're available by phone: 616.594.0693. And email: office@GoodSweetEarth.com.
1. We’re taking every precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including:
- Implementation of lawncare safety protocols (as presented by the Michigan Nursery & Landscape Association).·
- Frequent washing of hands with soap and water;
- The use of hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol when we’re outside the home and unable to use soap and water;
- The practice of “social distancing” by staying at least six feet away from customers when talking with them and no longer going into people’s homes when we’re doing lawn and garden consults;
- We do plan on doing face-to-face consults, again, while maintaining the six-foot buffer and wearing a mask. We had been doing consult via email and FaceTime, but now that we've been cleared to return to the field, it's much more effective if we can see a customer's lawn when discussing service options.
- And as challenging as it’s been, Steve has finally broken himself of the habit of shaking hands.
