So what’s in your soil? Or more specifically, what’s in your fertilizer? If you use Miracle Gro, it’s nothing but synthetic chemicals, petroleum and salt– and those chemicals are dangerous for your soil, your plants, your fruits and vegetables, and let’s be honest, would you put those bright blue crystals in your mouth? On the other hand, would you put strawberries in your mouth? Cucumbers? Bananas? Lettuce? Avocados? Oats? Carrots? Apples? Celery? Potatoes? Grapes? Peaches? Of course you would And those are the things we use to make Good Sweet Earth products, like Living Worm Compost and Bold Tomato. We also use things like kelp (seaweed), alfalfa and coconut coir– nothing poisonous there, and nothing we would be afraid to put in our mouths. Of course, we wouldn’t recommend making a meal out of our compost and fertilizer products, but you won’t need to go to the emergency room or call poison control if you ingest them. The same can’t be said for Miracle Gro. Good Sweet Earth’s stuff is organic and natural; Miracle Gro is toxic to people and animals. Here are some phrases from a Miracle Gro label: “Seek medical attention immediately…Remove contaminated clothing. Flush affected area with water for 15 minutes…Seek medical attention immediately if breathing becomes difficult…Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice… If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth… Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice.” So this begs the question: Why would you put toxins on the food you and your family eat? Even if you’re not eating Miracle Gro straight out of the box, do you really want those toxins present in your fruits, vegetables and herbs? Instead, how about a nice dose of organic Good Sweet Earth? That way you’ll be infusing your soil (and garden bounty) with organic nutrients directly from apples, strawberries, bananas, eggplant, etc, and NOT chemicals that could send you to the hospital or worse. Check out the products we have to offer and get your garden really green this year!
